so, what with all the talk of the fountain of youth currently -- i thought i'd jump in.

honestly, i don't think a fountain of youth provides immortality. it wouldn't. first of all, we have the obvious: just keeps ya young, not invincible. but on top of that, say you lived in a world where the only cause of death was age, i think the fountain of youth would only provide you the 'appearance' of youth. the physical appearance, the physical capabilities some of our elderly friends don't share, etc. i don't believe it would keep the body alive any longer than iit would otherwise, only it would live in a youthful existence.

no, i don't think that a fountain of youth would provide immortality either. you would need some sort of life-prolonging elixir to do that. the fountain of youth would just keep you looking young.

and even if a fountain of youth wouldn't keep the body alive any longer, wouldn't it be nice to 'live in a youthful existence'?
